Driven by the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Women: The Future (WTF) was formed in 2022 by 12 women determined to organize their frustration into a movement, to pull their resources and to make way for change.
WTF is a registered Federal PAC and a Pennsylvania state political action committee funded solely by membership dues. Our membership is composed entirely of women, and our goal is to support women candidates and increase the number of women elected to public office.
We are committed to taking action against discrimination and violence and to advocating for equal justice and equal pay.
Although women make up more than half of the U.S. population, only a quarter of the elected officials at all levels are women. On the local level, Erie County’s entire state delegation is made up of men, and only two of seven seats for both Erie County Council and Erie City Council are filled by women.
We need to ensure that women have a strong presence in elected offices at all levels — not just for equal representation and support of women’s issues, but for the benefits that women bring to these leadership positions.
We stand together to support women like you as they step into the political arena and take action to lead our communities.
The founding members of our volunteer organization include elected officials, mothers, daughters, teachers, business owners, and women just like you, focused on issues that align with our guiding principles.
